What Is SIMPONI ARIA®?

About SIMPONI ARIA®

SIMPONI ARIA® is an anti-TNF biologic treatment for adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA). SIMPONI ARIA®, used with methotrexate, as directed, has been proven to:

  • help relieve the pain, stiffness, and swelling of RA
  • help stop further joint damage
  • help improve your ability to perform everyday activities with less difficulty
  • help improve your physical and emotional well-being as measured by a general health assessment

Your results may vary.

More effective than methotrexate alone

A clinical study was conducted among people who did not get the relief they needed with methotrexate alone. In that study, SIMPONI ARIA®, used with methotrexate, was shown to:

  • be more effective than methotrexate alone in relieving the symptoms of moderate to severe RA
  • help stop further joint damage than methotrexate alone

Your results may vary.

SIMPONI ARIA® is an anti-TNF biologic

SIMPONI ARIA® targets, binds with, and blocks excess TNF-alpha, an underlying cause of inflammation.

It is important to know that blocking too much TNF-alpha can lessen your body’s ability to fight infection.

SIMPONI ARIA® (golimumab) is an anti-TNF biologic treatment option for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis

SIMPONI ARIA® targets, binds with, and blocks excess TNF-alpha, helping to control inflammation.

How SIMPONI ARIA® is given

30 Minutes

As a short 30-minute infusion prepared and given by a healthcare professional through a needle placed in your vein, usually in your arm. Before the infusion, a doctor or nurse will assess your health—including checking your blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight. He or she will monitor you throughout the infusion and for a period of time afterward.

6 Infusions

After 2 starter doses, 4 weeks apart, SIMPONI ARIA® is given once every 8 weeks—that’s as few as 6 times a year.

The 30-minute infusion is prepared and given by a healthcare professional in your doctor’s office or at a local infusion center.

Your doctor should test you for tuberculosis (TB) and hepatitis B before starting SIMPONI ARIA® and monitor you closely for signs and symptoms of TB during treatment. You should not receive SIMPONI ARIA® if you have an infection unless your doctor says it is okay.
